How do I Find an Estate Planning Attorney?
If you’re reading this, then you found one! Most people find NCF Law through referrals from friends and family OR through referrals from a trusted source (e.g. financial advisor or CPA or insurance broker or real estate agent) OR from Yelp reviews.
How do you know if you should use a particular lawyer? How do you decide?
Estate planning is personal. You have to think about and decide who will be involved in making decisions for you if you can’t (either because of incapacity or death). You have to think about who will care for your children. You have to think about a lot of really tough stuff that’s really (frankly) grim.
You should find an attorney who you feel comfortable talking with about these things. Do you feel comfortable asking questions? Do you feel like this attorney is looking out for you? Is she interested in you and making sure you get what you need? Do you like the attorney? You don’t HAVE to like the attorney, but it will make everything a lot smoother if you enjoy speaking with them (or at least don’t dread it!)
