How long does it take to set up a trust?

The short answer is it depends. Different attorneys have a different process, so it’s going to depend on who you talk to.

In our office, it can be as quick as two weeks from initial consultation to signing. Often it takes longer because it takes the client longer to make decisions. That said, taking the time to make decisions is key.

One of the benefits of working with an attorney is that we ask questions about your family and family dynamics and family structure; we ask questions about the details of how to structure the trust. It’s not as simple as “find and replace” templates. The key is making sure you have final documents that work for YOU and your circumstances. So yes, it may take longer, but for good reason!

If you’re concerned about getting a trust set up ASAP, contact us for a consultation today.
